आज सबसे ज्यादा बदनाम शब्द है--इस्लाम-और इसकी बदनामी का कारण मोम्मडन और गैर-मोम्मडन विद्वान हैं जिन्होंने मोम्मडन रिलीजन का अध्ययन तो किया लेकिन इस्लाम शब्द का वास्तविक अर्थ लोगों को समझाया नहीं। यह शब्द मुसलमान शब्द का पर्यायवाची बनकर रह गया है। जोकि गलत है। इस्लाम का अर्थ है-ईश्वर ही पूजनीय है।
